Autism Assessments

Step1

Get in contact with a member of our friendly team via phone or email to see if our service is right for you. You can then book in your appointment for an assessment. There's currently no waitlist for adults.

Step 2

Attend the scheduled 1.5hr online assessment session. During this assessment, the psychologist will inquire about your school history, occupational background, family history, as well as any relevant medical or mental health conditions.

Step 3

You and one to two individuals who know you well will be requested to complete a questionnaire about your traits.

Step 4

The psychologist will evaluate the information collected to determine the likelihood of Autism. If Autism is deemed unlikely, it is typically recommended that you discontinue the assessment process. In such cases, you will be charged $550, and you will receive a brief report summarizing the results.

Step 5

If Autism is deemed likely, you have the option to either conclude the assessment and receive a report indicating its likelihood, or proceed with the comprehensive report. Continuing with the full report entails a second session and third assessment session of 1-1.5 hours. During these additional sessions, the psychologist will conduct multiple assessments to determine whether an Autism diagnosis is present. The psychologist will then write a detailed, 20-30 page report, outligning the diagnosis, your personal history, your personal strengths, and how best to support your specific needs.

Following this, you will be offered a 15-minute phone consultation within the next two weeks to discuss the report further and address any queries.

NDIS APPLICATIONS

This report can be submitted with applications to the NDIS as evidence of a disability.

We aim to write our reports in a neuro-affirming manner, however, if this report is being used as part of an NDIS application, it will typically be more deficit-focused as this is generally more helpful when attempting to prove disability.

CHILD ASSESSMENTS

Typically we only do assessments for adults and children over the age of 12 however, depending on the presentation, we may be able to assess younger children.
